7 out of 10 Argentine teens make their own clothing purchases

Kidscorp's new Overview U18s Argentina 2026 report reveals a significant shift in consumer behavior among young people aged 3 to 18. The research highlights that 7 out of 10 Argentine adolescents now make independent decisions about their clothing purchases, while half influence household food buying decisions. This demonstrates the growing economic power and autonomy of the youth segment in the region.

The study uncovers critical insights into how Argentine youth consume digital content and make purchasing decisions. YouTube dominates platform usage with 73% penetration, followed by streaming video services (55%) and gaming (54%). Among gamers, 59% have purchased related merchandise from popular franchises like Minecraft and Marvel, showcasing the commercial potential of gaming-adjacent products.

Beyond individual purchases, the research reveals that nine in ten parents consume content alongside their children, primarily through streaming services (66%) and YouTube (64%). This co-viewing behavior opens unique opportunities for brands to reach both the youth audience and adult decision-makers simultaneously, creating a powerful combined market segment.
